Farmer benefits from a case of 'love thy neighbour'

TRACKER helps recover Quad Bike for Farmer and his Neighbour

TRACKER, the leading stolen vehicle recovery provider, came to the rescue when a south Gloucester farmer had his quad bike stolen one night. Luckily, the farmer had his vehicle fitted with a TRACKER unit, but little did he know how that would give his neighbour reason to cheer. TRACKER's stolen vehicle recovery system led police to the missing machine, found alongside another stolen quad bike, belonging to the farmer's neighbour.

On discovering that his quad bike had been stolen, the Gloucester farmer called TRACKER to activate the unit. TRACKER is the only stolen vehicle recovery provider working with all 52 police forces in the UK, allowing them to pick up the signal. In this case, officers from Hampshire Constabulary picked up the signal, which led them to the quad bikes in premises in Berkshire, nearly 70 miles away from the original thefts.

TRACKER urges farmers to protect their assets and consider the inconvenience that being without the quad can cause. The farmer, in this case, works with sheep in a remote part of the Cotswolds and the quad was a lifeline to his stock. Had this been in the depths of winter, he would have had no way of getting to those sheep and checking on their welfare. Luckily he had a TRACKER unit fitted and the two quad bikes were recovered.

"This is a great result for both farmers and clearly demonstrates the security benefits TRACKER brings," says Adrian Davenport, Police Liaison Manager from TRACKER. "Rural crime is a big problem across the UK, with quads particularly vulnerable.

"This case shows that criminals are highly organised, sweeping through an area and then moving stolen property great distances in a very short space of time. Without the TRACKER product being fitted to one of these machines, it is highly likely that neither would have been recovered, so the owner of the second quad bike has a lot to be thankful for."
